Terms of Service
Last updated: June 22, 2026
Welcome to OpenBibleLab (“OpenBibleLab,” “OBL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We are glad you are here.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are meant to make clear how you may use our content and services in a way that supports responsible, Christ‑honoring Bible engagement while also protecting our intellectual property and paid offerings. By accessing or using any of our services or content, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Notice, which is incorporated by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Services or Content.
Who We Are and What These Terms Cover
OpenBibleLab is an organization based in Florida, USA. We create and distribute Bible study resources, educational materials, and digital tools for individuals, churches, and communities.
These Terms and our Privacy Notice govern your access to and use of:
- Our websites and subdomains.
- Our online learning platforms, memberships, and courses.
- Our social media pages and channels.
- Any mobile or web applications we operate.
- Any other online presence or services we provide (collectively, the “Services”).
These Terms also apply to all content we make available through the Services, including but not limited to videos, lessons, articles, study notes, downloads, podcasts, graphics, course materials, memberships, community areas, and any other materials we create now or in the future (collectively, the “Content”).
The Content may not be used in any way except as expressly permitted in these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully before using the Services.
Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing, browsing, or using the Services or Content, you:
- Agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Notice.
- Represent that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms, including on behalf of any organization you represent.
If you are using the Services or Content on behalf of an organization (such as a church, ministry, school, or company), you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” will include that organization.
If you do not accept these Terms, you may not use the Services or Content.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and OpenBibleLab regarding your use of the Services and Content, and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements.
Free vs. Paid Content
OpenBibleLab offers both:
- Free Content: A selection of resources we make available at no monetary cost for personal and ministry use under the limited license below.
- Paid Content: Courses, memberships, downloadable resources, and other materials that are behind a paywall or require a purchase, subscription, or registration fee.
We reserve the right to change which materials are free or paid at any time, to add or remove offerings, and to modify or discontinue any aspect of the Services.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Content (free or paid); you receive only a limited license as described below.
Registration and Accounts
You may need to register for an account to access certain Services or Content, including paid memberships or courses.
By registering, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction).
- The information you provide is true, accurate, current, and complete, and you will keep it updated.
- You are using your own credentials and will not share login details in violation of these Terms.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity occurring under your account, with or without your authorization. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security at support@openbiblelab.com.
We may, in our sole discretion, suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any reason or no reason.
License to Use the Services and Content
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, OpenBibleLab grants you a limited, revocable, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, non‑sublicensable license to:
- Access and use the Services for your personal, non‑commercial use; and
- Access, view, and use the Content solely as permitted in these Terms.
This license does not transfer any ownership rights to you and may be revoked by us at any time, with or without notice. You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under these Terms to any other person or entity.
Special Rules for Free Content
For Content we designate as “Free,” “Free Resource,” “Open Access,” or similar, and that is not behind a paywall, we grant you, subject to these Terms, permission to:
- Access and display the Content for personal Bible study, small groups, and non‑commercial church or ministry settings.
- Share links to the Content on social media or in church communications.
- Download copies of materials we explicitly mark as downloadable for personal or local ministry use.
You may not:
- Sell or charge any fee for access to Free Content, or use Free Content in a product or service that you sell.
- Edit, modify, or create derivative works of Free Content in a way that alters its meaning, theology, or message, without our prior written consent.
- Remove any copyright, trademark, or attribution notices.
When you display Free Content in a public or group setting, you agree to include a clear notice (where reasonably possible) that identifies OpenBibleLab as the source and includes a link to our website.
Special Rules for Paid / Paywalled Content
Paid or paywalled Content includes, without limitation, courses, premium videos, members‑only resources, lesson plans, downloadable files, templates, and any other content accessible only through a paid subscription, purchase, or restricted login.
For Paid Content, you receive a personal, limited license to access and use the Paid Content for your own individual study or, where the product explicitly allows, within your immediate household or a single small group or class under your direct leadership.
Unless we expressly authorize otherwise in writing or in the product description, you may not:
- Share, resell, sublicense, or transfer your access credentials to others.
- Share actual files or copies of Paid Content (such as PDFs, videos, slide decks, or course materials) with anyone outside your household or the single small group/class authorized by the specific product license.
- Upload or post Paid Content, or any substantial portion of it, to any website, shared drive, course platform, social media page, or file‑sharing service.
- Use Paid Content to create any competing course, product, or resource (paid or free) that reproduces or closely tracks our structure, teaching, or materials.
If you lead a church, ministry, or school and want to use Paid Content across multiple groups, campuses, or staff members, please contact us to discuss a separate license or organizational agreement.
Any unauthorized sharing, distribution, or public posting of Paid Content is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of your access, as well as legal action.
User Conduct and Use Restrictions
You agree not to use the Services or Content for any unlawful or wrongful purpose or in any way that harms OpenBibleLab, its users, or third parties.
Without limiting the foregoing, you agree that you will not:
- Use the Services or Content for any commercial purpose, except as expressly authorized in writing by us.
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, or create derivative works from the Content except as expressly permitted in these Terms.
- Remove, alter, or bypass any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices or digital rights management technology.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise obtain the source code underlying the Services.

User‑Generated Content
You may have opportunities to post, upload, submit, or otherwise share content through the Services, such as comments, discussion posts, messages, reviews, or other materials (“User‑Generated Content”).
By submitting User‑Generated Content, you grant OpenBibleLab a worldwide, non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, perpetual, irrevocable, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, publish, display, perform, and distribute your User‑Generated Content in connection with operating, developing, promoting, and improving the Services.
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have all necessary rights to your User‑Generated Content.
- Your User‑Generated Content does not infringe any third‑party rights or violate any law.
- Your User‑Generated Content does not contain material that is defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, or otherwise unlawful or inappropriate.
We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, or remove User‑Generated Content at our sole discretion, without notice. You are solely responsible for your User‑Generated Content and interactions with other users, and you use community features at your own risk.
Intellectual Property Ownership
All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services and Content, including all copyrights, trademarks, trade dress, trade secrets, and other intellectual property (collectively, the “Intellectual Property”), are owned by or licensed to OpenBibleLab.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you. Your rights are limited to the licenses expressly granted in these Terms.
Our names, logos, and other brand assets are trademarks or service marks of OpenBibleLab. You may use our marks only as necessary to refer to us in a truthful, non‑misleading way, and not in any manner that suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation without our express written permission.
DMCA and Copyright Complaints
OpenBibleLab respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Services to do the same. If you believe that Content on the Services infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) by providing our designated copyright agent with the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3).
Please send copyright notices to: support@openbiblelab.com
Your notice must include:
- Your electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it.
- Your contact information.
- A statement that you have a good‑faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Knowingly submitting a false claim may result in liability for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
Security
You agree not to violate or attempt to violate the security of the Services. Prohibited actions include, but are not limited to:
- Accessing data not intended for you.
- Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems.
- Interfering with service to any user or network.
- Introducing malicious code or overloading our infrastructure.
We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement authorities, including disclosing your identity and information where required by law.
Modifying or Terminating the Services
We reserve the right, at any time and in our sole discretion, to change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services, including features or Content, with or without notice. We may also restrict access to some or all of the Services to certain users or locations.
If your access is terminated, we are not obligated to maintain, provide, or return any data or content associated with your account.
Privacy and Communications
Our collection and use of personal information through the Services are described in our Privacy Notice, which you should review carefully.
By using the Services, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including emails, notices posted on the Services, or messages through the platforms we use. These electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
Disclaimers
The Services and Content are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non‑infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Services or Content will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error‑free.
- The information provided is accurate, complete, or current.
- Any defects will be corrected, or that the Services are free of viruses or other harmful components.
You use the Services and Content at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will OpenBibleLab or its owners, employees, officers, directors, contractors, agents, or service providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Services or Content.
Without limiting the foregoing, our total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or related to the Services or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid OpenBibleLab in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless OpenBibleLab, its affiliates, and their respective owners, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use of the Services or Content.
- Your breach of these Terms.
- Your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Services are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, and applicable federal law of the United States.
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services (a “Dispute”), that cannot be resolved informally, will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, not as a class or representative action, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). The arbitration will be held in Florida, or another mutually agreeable location.
You and OpenBibleLab each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action or class‑wide arbitration.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent or stop any actual or threatened infringement, misappropriation, or violation of intellectual property or other proprietary rights.
Any cause of action or claim you may have arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services must be brought within one (1) year after the cause of action accrues, or such claim or cause of action is permanently barred.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent changes. Changes are effective immediately when we post them, and your continued use of the Services after we post revised Terms means you accept and agree to the changes.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed modified to the least extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
