What Does It Mean That Our Citizenship Is in Heaven?
Philippians 3:20 says believers' "citizenship is in heaven," meaning their deepest political and social identity belongs to God's kingdom, not any earthly nation. It reorders, rather than erases, love of country, calling Christians to hold every earthly loyalty as secondary to their true home.
